EVERYDAY CARRY ESSENTIALS.....GUNBELTS

So you made the decision to obtain your License to Carry or begin carrying under Constitutional Carry. Good! You have made the decision to better protect yourself, family, and friends. Today, I am going to talk about one of the most neglected but important parts of your setup----gunbelts.

What are we looking for?

I like a belt that is sturdy, meaning it is thick (possibly reinforced) and will not bend. It needs to be strong to support not only the weight of your clothing but also spare mags, holster, tools, tourniquet, and anything else you decide to carry.

How important is the belt?

This is what keeps your gear attached to you, it has to do its job or your gear maybe lost. Get in a hand to hand fight with a bad guy and you are fighting for your gun (which means fighting for your life), your belt needs to hold your gear on your body and not fail. If it breaks, sags, fails to support the weight being placed upon it, potentially you loose your gun, spare mag(s), flashlight, baton, wallet, wedding ring, shoes, and life. Buy good gear!

*****Pictured above are 4 links to Amazon that are good choices for everyday carry belts. Now I do have to disclose, that if you follow one or all of links, I will receive a commission from that sale. Yes I am an affiliate with Amazon and will now be posting about many different EDC items that every one carrying should review and could use. *****

Now back to belts, think about all that is required of your belt? Is your current belt capable of properly supporting your clothes? If it will not hold your pants up what makes you think it will hold a holster, gun, and any other gear you choose to carry. I wear a Nexbelt everyday and it does its job, its is strong, waterproof, reinforced, super adjustable, and comfortable. I also wore a strong leather belt at one time, and it worked great, it was just not as adjustable as the Nexbelt, because of the ratcheting locking system. The unique design of the buckle, and belt allow for 1/4 inch adjustment to the belt, so if you eat a big meal and your belt feels tight adjust it 2,3,4, clicks.

Your belt should support your body weight, plus the weight of your gear at a minimum. I would prefer a belt that I can tow a car with if need be. Your belt needs to be strong, and any of those 4 linked above will meet your needs. Make the effort to buy quality gear, your life depends on how good your gear functions.
